FBI Probes Mysterious Death

The FBI is investigating the mysterious death of a young American Jewish terrorism expert who worked at a think tank where research into Islamic extremism has drawn death threats, family and friends said. Jason Korsower, 29, died in his sleep at his father's Atlanta home on Nov. 26, after Thanksgiving celebrations with his family. ...

... A fraternity fire at the University of Mississippi killed three students in August. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said in October that the cause of the blaze remained "undetermined."

The report said the fire that killed Howard Stone, 19, of Martinsville, Virginia; William Townsend, 19, of Clarksdale; and Jordan Williams, 20, of Atlanta, started August 27th in a basement bedroom of the Alpha Tau Omega house.

A-T-F investigators say they found no evidence that the fire was intentionally set and there was no evidence of foul play. Twenty-three students and a house mother escaped the fire at the two-story, brick-and-wood frame building.

Young Man of the Year: Tyler Bier, Macon. At the start of fall semester at Ole Miss, a fire at the Alpha Tau Omega house killed three of his fraternity brothers. Bier, a senior marketing major from Macon, is president of the 106-member fraternity and demonstrated exceptional leadership after the tragedy during a time of great sorrow.

Colgate withdraws recognition of three fraternities

Yet another wall down

The wall leading into the Alpha Tau Omega's driveway was hit yet another time. ...

"It was an accident and accidents happen," said Richard Hines, the new president of the ATO fraternity.

When asked about the future plans for the wall he said, "We plan on rebuilding it again. Hopefully it will be our Christmas present."

Every nine seconds a woman is abused by her significant other, according to Lake County's Safe Place, a group that helps women and children escape domestic violence. A group of Albion College students is making strides to try to help these women.

Alpha Chi Omega's philanthropy is the fight against domestic abuse. The sorority is raising money for Safe Place of Battle Creek, which provides housing, education and counseling for abused women and children.
