ZM ATO Chapter Progress

Just wanted to update you on the progress and good work of the ATOs at Sam Houston State.

For the spring 2004 semester, during Formal Rush, the Zeta Mu chapter of ATO took 6 recruits (pledges). There were only a couple of other fraternities on campus that took as many since the number of men signing up for Formal Rush only numbered a little over two dozen. The 6 recruits (pledges) were inducted last Monday night during a ceremony outside of the Austin College building on the Sam Houston campus. Alumni in attendance were Rick Hanna, Dan Forney, Scott Hagan and Robert Hurst. After the ceremony, the new recruits and the members joined the alumni for fellowship and brotherhood at the new Zack's.

On Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., the new recruits and members will join forces with the alumni Friday Night Fryers for the Walden Spring Clean and Catfish Fling at Walden on Lake Conroe. This is an excellent opportunity for ATO to make soon-to-graduate high school seniors from the Montgomery County area aware of the chapter at Sam Houston State and provide a community service, too. The undergrads will be helping to clean up properties in the Walden area for the spring while the alumni Friday Night Fryers will be cooking up chicken and catfish dinners to raise money for a scholarship program. The Sam Houston State Alumni Association is hitching its wagon to this event, too!

Take time to come visit with the chapter the next time you're in Huntsville or come to the Spring Clean and Catfish Fling at Walden on Lake Conroe on March 27! Come see what ATO is doing at SHSU!
