Students can found their own fraternities

Over 1,000 young men rush the 27 fraternity chapters on campus every year. However, there are times when a student can’t find a fraternity that suits his personality....

Alpha Tau Omega president Ryan Connor said when his fraternity obtained its charter in fall 2004 it had its national president and executive members fly in for initiation. “We got our charter in less than a year. Nationals were strict, but it was great,” Connor said. “They wanted to make sure we had a group of motivated guys dedicated to the cause.” When ATO received its charter, it had about 40 brothers and the number continues to be stable...

Jimmy Dale Singleteary II, 23, of Bogota, was killed in a single-car accident on Tuesday, Nov. 22, on Tyson Road in Union City.
Singleteary was a UTM [web/ eBay] student majoring in Economics, and had planned to graduate in December. He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity...
